A teacher’s aide working in Appleton West High School was charged with several counts of sexual assault after pleading guilty to having a sexual relationship with a student.
According to reports, 44-year-old Laura Bates is facing four counts of sexual assault charges after admitting that she had a sexual contact with a 17-year-old boy. A school staff member told authorities that the relationship between Bates and the student developed last month.
A $20,000 signature bond was set for Bates by the county judge and another $1,500 cash bond was requested by a district attorney to ensure that Bates stays away from the student. Bates will appear for a court hearing on December 30.
