Officer injured after head-on collision with wrong-way driver

Posted under automobile accident attorneys

A Milwaukee police officer was critically injured in a motor vehicle accident after a wrong-way driver collided head-on with his vehicle last Wednesday on Interstate 94.

The officer, 31, was off-duty at the time of the automobile accident, and was traveling on the highway in order to return home from work. The wrong-way driver did not have the proper headlights turned on, and was heading west in an eastbound lane of the highway. The collision caused the drivers to sustain serious injuries.

The 23-year-old reckless driver was cited for driving without the proper headlights, driving while intoxicated, and for reckless driving. The accident caused the eastbound lanes of the highway to be closed for several hours while an investigation was conducted.
