A Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputy lost his life on Tuesday after he was involved in a car accident on Interstate 43 in downtown Milwaukee.
The 18-year veteran was operating a service truck, utilized for helping disabled motorists, when he collided with another car in the southbound lanes of the interstate. The deputy was killed as a result of the accident. Authorities are unsure at this time what caused the deadly crash, but an investigation into the incident is underway.
The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, and the southbound lanes of the highway were closed for approximately four hours following the crash. This man was the first Milwaukee County officer to die in the line of duty since 2000.
