A Madison woman was injured in a Wausau drunk drivingaccident Friday night.
According to officials with the Marathon County Sheriff’sDepartment, a 29 year-old Madison-resident was transported to Aspirus WausauHospital shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday. Police say the woman’s vehicle strucka tree at the intersection of Highway Z and Locker Road in the town ofGuenther.
According to the Sheriff’s accident report, the accident wasapparently intentional. The woman told police she ingested alcohol andprescription drugs prior to the crash. Lieutenant Dale Wisniewski said thewoman, whose name has not been released, was cited for operating while intoxicated– first offense.
No information on the nature or extent of the woman’sinjuries was available.
