An Australian prosecutor is recommending that a man tied to the death of a 42 year old be charged with manslaughter. The woman was found dead and naked from an overdose of a “date rape” drug in the man’s cabin during a South Pacific cruise. The prosecutor is also recommending that two other men who were sharing the cabin be charged with perverting the course of justice.
The mother of three died aboard the P&O cruiseliner Pacific Sky in 2002. Her death was later tied to her ingestion of a cocktail of alcohol and the illicit date rape drug “fantasy.” During an investigation, eight men of interest were identified. Four them them shared the cabin where the woman died.
Ultimately, charges will be filed by the police. The police typically go along with what the prosecutors recommend.
