Texting While Driving Gets Federal Attention

by Administrator 5. October 2009 05:08

An Obama administration official has recently came out supporting increased enforcement efforts by state officials to make laws to restrict drivers from texting and driving.  The administration official is encouraging states to impose their own restrictions and bans on this issue, citing the threat to public safety.

The Obama administration has recently been able to place federal restrictions on texting while driving,  placing a ban on certain drivers who travel across state lines from taking part in the practice. The federal government hopes by setting the example that other states will follow with their own enforcement efforts.
