Remote Starters Recalled

by Administrator 21. July 2008 06:07
Remote Starters in cars manufactured by Autostart have been recalled. The recall affects automatic starters present in cars with manual transmissions. The problem is that when cars with a manual transmission are started remotely, they can lurch forward. This is particularly a problem when the car's transmission is left in gear and the parking brake is applied. The recall affects roughly 21,000 vehicles. The products being recalled are branded under the names of Autostart, Polar Start, extreme, Orbit, Nordic Start, and Command Start. A less likely problem occurs when the car is started in a confined area. The emissions can result in a build up of carbon monoxide in the area which can trigger problems. If you have been injured by a lurching remotely started car, contact the Wausau product defect lawyers of Habush, Habush, & Rottier at 1-800-247-0171 to discuss your situation and to determine your legal options.
