Man Arrested for Illegally Manufacturing Fireworks

A 23 year old Fort Myers, Florida man was arrested for illegally manufacturing fireworks in his apartment. The man was charged with 25 counts of possession/manufacturing an explosive device, 1 count of possessing explosives without a license, and 1 count of culpable negligence. The investigation and sting started around 11:30 in the morning. Two of the buildings at the apartment complex were completely evacuated. The residents were not allowed to return to their homes until after midnight. The Fort Myers Fire Department HazMat team, the Southwest Florida Regional Bomb Group, and the Fort Myers Police Department all participated. The Red Cross provided help to people who were forced out of their homes.
