The family of a teenage boy who suffered broken bones and internal injuries during an arrest intends to sue for damages. Juan Vasquez, 16, sustained broken ribs, a lacerated liver, and kidney damage following a foot chase by Officer Charles Porter of the Denver police. According to two other Denver officers, Porter was seen jumping on Vasquez's back at least 4 times. Porter has been suspended without pay since the incident and may face second-degree assault charges. Vasquez's family told a reporter that they want $1.3 million from the city, but their attorney denied that any figure had been determined.
