A hit and run accident that took place Sunday night in Sheboygan, Wisconsin left two people critically injured.

The accident was caused by falling metal from the back of a red pick-up truck. The metal blocked roadways behind the truck and one 22-year-old driver tried to maneuver her car around the debris but lost control of the vehicle. Her car rolled over before coming to a complete stop in a ditch. Both people inside of the vehicle were severely injured.

The driver of the pick-up truck initially pulled his car over but then drove off. The metal that was housed in the truck bed was stolen and there is reason to believe that the truck was used in the theft of the materials. Police are still looking for the truck as well as the driver.

The parents of a 17-year-old girl are suing the oral surgeon and anesthesiologist who performed wisdom tooth surgery on their daughter last March.

During the surgery the young girl’s heart rate began to decline and her blood oxygen level declined. According to reports, the official cause of death was determined to be hypoxia, which is directly related to the negligence of the surgeon and anesthesiologist.

Her parents believe that if the doctors would have been more cautious and attentive during the surgery that their daughter would still be alive today. They are hoping to raise awareness about the risks of dental surgeries through their dental malpractice lawsuit.

Sexual assault centers throughout Wisconsin will experience a decrease in government funding for the 2012 fiscal year. A 42.5 percent cut in funding will cause the centers to reevaluate the use of their money and who will be able to receive treatment and aid at the centers.

The Department of Justice claims that this decrease is important in order to maintain the workforce responsible for investigating the reports of sexual abuse.

Revenue collected from criminal surcharges dropped 21 percent this year as compared to 2008 and therefore the cut in funding to sexual assault centers will help make up for the difference. There are 43 centers in Wisconsin that will be affected by this cut.
