Weekend Sees More Snowmobile Accidents

by Administrator 10. February 2010 03:10

The Wausau area dealt with several snowmobile accidents over the weekend after a relatively quiet period. Two fatalities were reported north of Wausau Friday. A 26-year-old man and a 66-year-old man were both killed in separate incidents involving a snowmobile crashing into a tree.

A 14-year-old boy bumped into a truck while driving a snowmobile, leaving him with minor leg injuries. His father was cited for allowing him to operate the vehicle without appropriate training courses. In two separate incidents, a snowmobile and an ATV broke through ice and soaked four people, who were not injured. A snowmobile collided with a sled as well, sending the snowmobile driver to the hospital with a broken foot.
