Five Maryland high school wrestlers have been charged with hazing after allegedly taping the arms and legs of a fellow teammate to a bus seat.
The Thomas Stone High School students have now been suspended pending further investigation, and their wrestling coach has been removed from his position.
According to one of the suspended wrestlers, pictures were taken of the teammate as he was taped to the bus seat and teased. The incident occurred as the wrestling team was traveling home by bus from a match in another town.
Lohr said the team was just joking around with the teammate and did not intend to cause him harm.
Under Maryland state law, hazing is a crime punishable by up to six months in prison, in addition to fines.
