2 Incarcerated Women Claim Sexual Harassment Against Officer

by Administrator 30. January 2009 08:01
Trisha N. Justice and Sylvia A. Amos, 2 two women who have been incarcerated for robbery, forgery and fraud have filed separate suits against Dave Masters, a prison guard at their correctional facility. Justice, 34, was convicted when she was 26-years-old.  Following her robbery charge, she was also found guilty of first-degree-murder and is not eligible for parole for another 20 years.  Amos, who was 28 at the time she was found guilty of forgary and circuiting money under false pretenses, is 35. Both women claim a regular pattern of abuse and sexual harrassment was provoked by Masters.  These occurrences began in 2006.  Additionally, two extra abusers have been named in this suit, who were also correctional officers. 6 other women have come foward and attested to sexual misconduct on Masters' behalf. Sexual harassment is a terrible thing to overcome.  These women will have to deal with emotional stress, along with a severe mistrust in those who are supposed to act as authoritative figures.  If you have experienced this type of sexual misconduct, please contact your Wausau personal injury lawyer at 800-242-2874.

Nursing-home Neglect Results in Amputation

by Administrator 16. January 2009 07:01

Where a short, 7-ft walk from one room to the other seems simple to the average person, at a rehabilitation center, it could be the most challenging thing you do that day.

A resident of a local Nursing Home  pressed a call-button for her nurse to assist her to walk from her room to the restroom.  Unfortunately, the nurse on duty never responded to the call, and the woman attempted to transport herself from her room to the restroom.

Ultimately, the resident ended up slipping and falling, and unfortunately, a below-the-knee amputation resulted.

Facilities like this have a responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of their residents.  Additionally, they must make sure the call buttons are functioning properly, as one missed call could result in extreme suffering.

If you or someone you love has endured an injury that will affect their mobility and comfort for the rest of their lives, it is very important you contact your Wausau personal injury attorney at 800-242-2874 to discuss future compensation for the negligence on the other party’s behalf.
