Waste Removal in Iraq has Some Soldiers Worried

by Administrator 16. December 2008 06:12
In the U.S. Balad Air Force Base in Iraq, for four years waste was removed in potentially unhealthy, hazardous ways. A burn pit burned continually, and soldier simply threw their waste into it, whatever that waste was. In fact some soldiers believe that human body parts were thrown into the burn pit as well. As a result, potentially toxic fumes were constantly being emitted, fumes that soldiers were exposed to. Many soldiers have had symptoms that have led them to believe that the burn pit was injurious to their health. Some had constant cough, chest irritation, and phlegm. Some developed spots. Others found that their fitness worsened. Many U.S. bases in Iraq, and all bases in Afghanistan, still have burn pits instead of the safer incinerators. The company that operated the burn in Balad Air Force Base is being sued. If you have or someone you know has been suffered because of negligence or unsafe conditions, contact the Wausau personal injury lawyers of Habush, Habush, & Rottier, S.C. Man Escapes Serious Injury in Furnace Explosion

by Administrator 4. December 2008 03:12
An Illinois car repair garage owner is in one piece after an explosion of his furnace in his garage. The man used a furnace powered by used oil from customers' cars for heat in his garage. The man, one day, was adding oil to the tank when he noticed that he had spilled some on the side of the tank. When he reached down to wipe it off of the side of the furnace, the entire thing blew up. Firefighters soon arrived and found the man in one piece although somewhat worse for the wear.  The man thinks that when he touched the side of the furnace, he transferred static electricity to the metal furnace. This caused the spark to ignite the oil in the reservoir causing the entire thing to explode.  The man is fortunate only to have suffered some burns to his hands. If you have been burned or injured due to a faulty furnace, contact the Wausau products liability attorneys of Habush, Habush, & Rottier at 1-800-248-0171 to discuss your case and to determine your legal options.
