Fairbanks, Alaska Man Dies in Snowmobile Accident

by Administrator 18. November 2008 08:11
A Fairbanks, Alaska man died in a snowmobile accident when his snowmobile rolled off of a road. The driver, a 20 year old who had been out with friends, was found unconscious and bleeding on the side of the trail. He suffered a head injury in the accident and was not wearing a helmet. In addition, state troopers say that the driver and his friends had been drinking alcohol prior to their drive. Alcohol seems to have played a role in the accident. The snowmobile hit a snow berm and went airborne. It then crashed through a traffic sign. The driver was injured on the landing.

Taxi Driver Assaulted

by Administrator 7. November 2008 02:11
A Seattle-area taxi driver was assaulted by a drunken man this week. Authorities are looking into it as a possible hate crime.  The passenger of the cab repeatedly punched the driver in the back of the head while complaining that the driver was an immigrant from a North African Muslim country. The punching continued until police were called and arrived on the scene. The drunken man was booked into a Seattle jail.  A little over a year ago, a different cab driver suffered from a concussion after his passenger assaulted him for being an "Iraqi terrorist." It turns out, the driver was not only not Iraqi but also was not even Muslim. This man was sentenced to 9 months in jail and community service. If you have been the victim of a hate crime, contact the Wausau personal injury lawyers of Habush, Habush, & Rottier at 1-800-248-0171 to discuss your case and to determine your legal options.
