A Colorado military base held  mock DUI accident designed to “scare” the troops located on the base into not drinking and driving. The exercise was designed to show everyone that drunk driving can kill.

The mock accident involved a car travelling at a high rate of speed with a drunk driver who then hits a different car filled with three troops. To stage the accident, the base brought in firefighters, police officers, the jaws of life, a flight for life helicopter, and an ambulance. The scene was complete with fake blood, screams, and even the “death” of one of the troops.

In addition to the “death,” the drunk driver of the other vehicle was given a sobriety test. The entire exercise was part of Red Ribbon Week, a national program designed to increase awareness of drunk driving and an attempt to put an end to the practice.

Two people were injured in Wisconsin when their car rolled multiple times. The passenger in the car was taken to the hospital where she is in critical condition.

The car was travelling along Highway 51 in the Township of Birch when the driver, a 64 year old man from Illinois, noticed a bear in the road. to avoid the bear, the driver swerved. He hit the median and the car rolled multiple times. When the car rolled, the passenger was thrown from the car.

The driver was treated at the hospital and held overnight. He was released the next morning.

The University of Wisconsin’s band has been suspended from football games following allegations of sexual misconduct, alcohol abuse, and hazing. It is not yet known what exactly the band did but this is not the first time it has been made public knowledge that the band is up to something.

Due to the allegations, an investigation is being conducted. The band will not perform at any football games until the investigation has been completed. So far they have missed a trip to Ohio State. 

The school has not yet defined that misconduct was the cause of the band director banning the band. The school also would not say if the misconduct occurred during the school’s trip to Michigan.
