Police Recommend Charges Against Wausau Police Officer

by Administrator 6. November 2007 08:11
Unfortunately, we have come to understand that police officers need to sometimes be held to the same criminal and potentially civil standards as everyone else.  That reality was reinforced recently in an article that was published in the Fon du Lac Reporter that told the terrifying tale of a Wausau police officer’s alleged attempt to kill his wife in an auto accident. The Shawano County Sheriff's Department has decided to recommend criminal charges against a Wausau police officer alleged to have intentionally caused a crash to injure his wife Sept. 18, Wausau Police Chief Jeff Hardel confirmed Thursday night. Hardel said he was told Thursday afternoon of the Sheriff's Department's intentions to pursue charges against Chueng Lee, 45, a 15-year veteran of the Wausau Police Department. Hardel said he did not know the exact charges expected to be filed but that they were "along the lines of false imprisonment, aggravated battery and intentional, attempted reckless homicide.” Even if the person who causes your injuries in a reckless, intentional or negligent manner is a police officer, you still have legal rights to pursue.  Contact a Wausau personal injury lawyer at Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. today to schedule a free initial consultation.
